life junctions.

alright, now i contribute to the unemployed statistics. :)

and nono, im not proud abt it and i promise myself to get myself into the more positive grp of statistics in a few more months time.

i have been taking a break 2 weeks back and i must say life is pretty relaxing to me. despite me being very broke and i have to resort to $1.20 fried beehoon for lunch and $0.70 tea-o, im appreciating the fact that i have the time to read newspapers at my own pace and own timing. and i have the luxury to read the entire set if i feel intelletual, otherwise i just zoom right into the classifieds and get amazed by the numbers of available jobs.

now it is 2.30am but i havent got the sleep bug yet. today i spent the entire day at home surfing the net and sleeping plus a quick dinner outside. the weather is killing me, but that is nt the main point. a day's stay at home made me think about issues related to life.

like..

where go pp go/do after their graduation?
is there a right or wrong job?
wat is more impt, $ or experience?
is this the right job for me?

u know little qns like these pop up in my mind every now and then. but i guess after my last day at my previous company till today, i have cleared up my mind.

life is like a cross junction right after graduation.

there are lotsa opportunities for us to explore. in fact, after being in a recruitment agnecy for 1.5 month, i jolly well know it is the employees' market now. so jobseekers, fret nt. take ur time to choose cos the employers are more desperate to have you than you to have them. im serious!

after trying the sucky (in my own opinion only) 9-5 corporate job, i realised i am not suited for such environment. despite the stable salary tt i may get which can easily WOW any of my peers because of the sales nature, i choose to seek for alternative jobs which may gain me more job statisfaction. i did a test and it has been proven that im nt a money-motivated person.

and for my previous job, i kinda like the part where there are lotsa interaction with candidates, but work is still work, you have to get things done at the end of the day whether you think it is MORALLY right or not. i have certain issues in accepting the company's culture so well, im outta there to seek for a more ideal job.

and after so much that has been said and done, i figured out that im a CONFIRMED fussy job seeker.

i like..

-non corporate environment
-non 9-5 job
-dont mind uniformed grp jobs
-okay with shiftwork even graveyard shift
-want job statisfaction and not ONLY $$
-outdoor exposure
-want interaction with people

okay.. so i ended up applying for all govt jobs la!

and the great thing is central narcotics bureau is processing my application for senior narcotics officer.

it fits all into my criteria! :)

i dunno where life is going to take me to now. but at least i know what i wan/dont wan. with all these factors, i know what to filter and not rush into another job. afterall, im still so young. :)

yellow is so right when she says when one door closes on me, keep a lookout for the next door that may open and you never know where it will lead you to.. and when she said tt, i teared cos i felt understood instantly.

it is like parents nag at you when you dont work immediately (i dunno abt other sets of parents, but my parents seem paranoid that im nt working. they think im being too lazy and fussy, sometimes i just hope parents ustand our choice to wait for the ideal job.:() it is also pretty sad that people have certain expectations of you which you dont wish to perform accordingly because u simply think there is no need for you to (as there are unimportant pp) or their expectations are simply absurb.

i have been a lonely lonely soul bcos my frens have either started work or they are having attachment.

but well, jo has alot more to do than to stay at home and whine!

happy thing: thursday interview! a job that requires me to go outdoor to search for potential vendors and clients to increase awareness and publicity of magazines for a pulishing firm. it may be 9-5 but im willing to try!

good luck to me! :)

okay, im tired now. im gg to bed with the fried tang hoon and broccoli+mushroom that i had for dinner just now. shit, did i just say im broke?

hush. :)
