The obstacle in our path. before i bury my head to study for cm3211, i saw this email and it touched me a little on a stressful thursday morning. Fourth important lesson - The obstacle in our path. In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way. Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many of us never understand. Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition. life itself has many obstacle. as i worked thru-out the entire 9 years, i have seen many kinda pp. pp who think they have the saddest life on earth and lament abt it the whole day long w/o doing anything, there are also pp who work very hard for what they wan/need. there are also people who say lotsa rubbish before getting sth done or they merely say it w/o any actions. like i said, in this world, tons and lotsa kinda people. i guess 9 yrs isnt even enuff for me to see 1% of the various kinda people. the issue here is, take the initiative to change whatever tt u r unhappy with and not just move around it and cross ur fingers, hoping tt someone will help to solve the issue. even if the issue is not directly related to you, i certainly think tt taking some initiative to help to resolve the issue and benefit some other people tt may or may nt be close to you can make ur day. alot of people ard me lack the initative. i dont ustand why, but it saddens me tt pp are be so irksome n irresponsible. if u wan changes, do it on ur own. if u wan comfort/ease, think of ways to achieve it. im drumming my fingers, waiting for my graduation, and to enter the workplace to see how sad the working life is. but definitely, i will keep my sanity. a few weeks back, or rather a few years back (i shld have known) i know of a horrible thing tt my "fren" did to me just bcos she was envious/jealous of what i had. perhaps i shld count my blessings for good things like good health, good relatives that we cant do much to change. but beside stuff like tt, academic excellence, friends that u have, jobs are surely sth u can change/control, isnt it? to take away what the other party has just because u are envious/jealous of what he/she has is just a plain childish and immature act. my point is, what is there to be envious when most of the time, hard work pays off and u get what u deserve? even if at tt particular moment u dont see results immediately, it does not mean that God is unfair. it only means that results come later. and why? i dunno, but i only know things happen for a reason. for my life, i work hard for most of my stuff. i work and keep my pennies and spend what i earn. i study hard and get in to good schs. i respect people and thus people favour me. i love my frens and hence they love me even more. i smile all the time and i get more smiles in return. i have what it takes to obtain a job tt many may desire/need. doesnt the world work like tt? i am getting what i shld for i have placed in much effort to what i have. well, to the fellow who envies (or who is jealous) me, u can envy (or be jealous) for all i care. cos envy w/o any action on ur part to improve ur life = a very sad you. :) aww. u poor little thing. before u even wanna change the world to suit urself, please change urself to suit the world.everyone is thinking of changing the world to suit themselves cos it is just god-damn easy to change everyone except themselves. tt is how the world works. i hope u have grown up and learnt lessons in life well. it is time for you to do so. im happy. ive finished rattling! tmr when the test is over, time for fun! i love fun! :) I thought I'd give you something shiny and new I tried to find something worthy of you But I realized, when I looked inside There's some things that money can't buy Oh no, I feel the magic whenever you're near This Gift Lyrics - 98 Degrees |
